Daisy Day

On the 24th of March, the community came together in a beautiful show of support for the Clarke family and little Daisy’s fight against an ATRT brain tumour that was discovered at just three months old. With the day held at Hectic and next door at Bang Bang Bar & Food, the day was a massive success filled with generously donated Daisy-themed merchandise, Daisy tattoos by Lindsay with the help of fellow tattooist Dane, temporary tattoos, face painting, live music, raffle and even a visit by the Easter Bunny himself (thank you Matt from IGA Cape Woolamai)!

What started as something we thought would be just a small contribution turned into so much more with the selfless generosity of so many people and businesses alike, all of whom we would like to thank from the bottom of our hearts because, without them, this day would not have turned into what it became. We would like to offer a big thank you to Bang Bang Bar & Food, who not only donated their venue with live entertainment from Daisy & Lunny, but their staff all banded together, donating their day pay plus all their tips, along with Pat’s generous offer of 20% of the day’s takings, all going to Daisy. Lindsay & Dane donated their time and ink to the Daisy tattoos, with Lindsay also working on them over the entire month of March and 100% of the proceeds going to the Clarke family. Hectic Shop donated 20% of all sales on the day, plus 100% proceeds from all Daisy-inspired merch sold in-store. Our Daisy merch was kindly donated by Harper’s Rainbow, Island Cookie Box, Wild Orchid Studios, BS Baked Bliss, and Tripping On Rugs. Others who donated their services include Print it Fast, printing all the Daisy posters, and Jess Tilley donating 200 Daisy stickers. We also had an overwhelming response to donations for the Daisy Day raffle, these included Real Seaclusion, Ramada, Phillip Island Ten Pin Bowling, O’Brien Real Estate, Roshambo Photography, Joey Smith, IGA San Remo, Oke Surfboards, Melbourne Ice, Inhale Exhale Reiki with Mandy Hale, Ambling Along Tours & Transfers, San Remo Butchers, Sarah Bertram, Wild Orchid Studios, Super Cruzer Bike Hire, Coco Belle Hair by Emily, Phillip Island Winery, Western Port Hotel, Allure Accessories Boutique, Daisy’s grandparents, IGA Cape Woolamai, Jim’s Bait & Tackle, Ziggy’s Hair on the Island, Dee’s Cutting Edge, Marios at San Remo, Mr & Mrs Martin, & Simon Chipper. Also, a big thank you to Lindsay’s family who helped man the stations, including tattoo registrations, raffle and face painting with the rest of the Hectic team helping with sales, photography, organising the raffle and making sure the day kept running forward. Apologies if we missed anyone, this went so much bigger than we thought it would!

It was amazing to see the outpouring of support for the Clarke family, and I know Shauna, Sam and the kids, including Daisy, won't be able to forget the amount of support that is behind them whilst their strong little girl continues to fight with the biggest of smiles on her face.
